he last week or so is such a blur but I will attempt to backtrack and tell what has been going on. Early last week we finished getting all of our belongings together that we would need while we're staying in the hotel. The moving company came on Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday and got everything packed and loaded. They left Friday and we had the closing on our house in Kentucky on Friday afternoon. As soon as we finished with that, we went back to our house to finish cleaning. We were all sad but Lily Kate burst into tears and said, "I'm gonna miss this house!", which made us all teary-eyed! We all dearly loved living in that home and have many wonderful memories there. It's always sad to leave a home behind, especially when you're also leaving great friends behind. It was bittersweet driving away. There are definitely benefits to moving around and being exposed to different areas and different types of people, but we're all glad that it looks like we'll be settled in our next home for quite a while.
We spent Saturday at our house working in the yard. The current owner said we could go ahead and work in the yard and paint before the closing. We've had several things to do before the closing but I had promised the kids that we would go on an outing this week. Today we went into Nashville to the Parthenon, which is a replica of the Parthenon in Greece built in 1897.
Wow, I hope these next few days and weeks go well for you, and the changes in the house will be fast!
ReplyDeleteI think it's so neat you picked up and left the work and went to do something fun - even though I'm sure there were a hundred things you could have done at the house! That's just so good, and something I need to be reminded of.

I agree with Clarita, I think it's neat that you picked up and did something fun. I may have felt overwhelmed and wanted to finish all my work first! Haha.

Well you can see how long it's taken me to catch up with Xanga!! I am so glad things were still posted there so I could find the few blogs I had followed. Your house looks adorable! I hope to follow more regularly now that I have you on my blog RSS.
